The Rumpus is looking to fill internship positions! We are looking for two interns in the San Francisco area and two interns in the Los Angeles area:

Responsibilities for LA interns: writing blog posts, social media tasks, Letters in the Mail assistance, and helping organize any events. Must have a car. Copyediting skills a plus.

Responsibilities for SF interns: writing blog posts, social media tasks, helping organize any events, transcribing interviews. Copyediting skills a plus.

Like most of our staff positions, internships are on a volunteer basis.

Rumpus Internships!

The Rumpus is looking to fill a few internship positions!

Primary responsibilities include writing blog posts, helping out with events, packaging merchandise, and copy editing.* We’re seeking applicants who are able to come in to our office at least once a week; however, we are quite flexible and accommodating of jobs or school. Our office is located in San Francisco, near the 16th St. BART Station in the Mission.

We’re looking for an intern to work exclusively for Tumblr’s Department of Editorial out of our Manhattan offices. Availability requested is relatively immediate. The ideal candidate is currently attending college; this is preferred but not mandatory. However, physical presence in our office will be mandatory for most work, and applicants should be prepared to visit for an interview. This internship is part-time and paid, and we’re happy to additionally support the experience’s eligibility for college credit if desired.

Intern Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Video editing experience, including competency (if not expertise) with Final Cut 10
  • Feature writing & editing
  • Story scouting, research, fact checking
  • Tumblr discovery, general proficiency in social media
  • Various and sundry editorial support duties
  • Video shooting experience is helpful
