  • Today is Cher’s birthday and that means it’s a special Cher edition of Madame Clairevoyant, courtesy of her bad-ass illustrator Jen May.
Aries: This week is going to be about sincerity and about wonder, so much so that it’ll be almost embarrassing. This feeling can be overwhelming and weird, but this week it will also be bracing, cleansing, to let yourself feel this stunned, this small, in the face of everything that exists in this world. Read books that make you feel young. Go to the tops of the buildings, climb up hills, so you can see for miles. Visit to the Natural History Museum, go to the aquarium, walk to the woods, find a  desert.
Taurus: This week’s going to be about work, about patience, about being open to the world in a way that might be a little frustrating and might be a little exhilarating. This week the world is going to make demands of you. The spaces you move through, the people you know, will ask for your sweat and for your love. Try to give these things; try to give exactly as much as you’re able. More than ever, this week, more than you can even imagine, everything you give will be paid back.
Gemini: This week’s going to be a little hazy, a little thoughtful, a little strange. It’s good time for brooding and a good time for moving. Retrace your steps. Find ways of being and ways of feeling you thought you lost. Listen to the mix cds  you made five years ago; listen to the ones you made a decade ago; listen to the different rhythms that have held your life in place, that anchored you to the ground, that pulled you up to the sky.
Cancer: This week, you’re going to be overwhelmed by love for the people and places and mountains and cities in your life, overwhelmed by feelings that are strong enough to knock you over. It’s a good week to do what you want to do, it’s a good week to do everything for the people you love, it’s a good week to watch lightning in the sky and believe in miracles. It’s a rare and magical thing, this kind of heady generosity, this strange power. Let it make you kind; let it make you wild.
Leo: This week will be filled with slow sunrises and bright afternoons and long blue evenings; the earth and the air are going to be kind to you this week. This week is a time for you to trust the things your own body feels, the things your body knows. The world is going to be clear and expansive and bright, and it’ll feel good, right, to be intentional, to be sure of yourself, to be safe, to be generous. Read Marilyn Chin, read Warsan Shire. Let them set you on fire.
Virgo: This week is going to be about friendship, about love, about the people you share your world with. It’s going to be a bright week, a warm week, a week for you to share your secrets, to share your food, to give all the different kinds of love you know how to give. It’s also a week to take good care of yourself, in the bright tangle and mess of so much wild love. Spend some moments alone, spend some moments thinking about nothing, spend some moments listening to the silence outside your window at night.
Libra: You might feel a little down this week, you might feel a little weird, you might feel like the balance of your world has shifted, like it’s left you spinning and stumbling to find your footing on this new plane. This is a good week for learning to take up space in a different way, for learning new moves, quick or slow or slanted, to take you through the streets of your life. It’s a good week to be around other people; it’s a good week for listening. Read about trees, read about whales, watch Star Trek.
Scorpio: This week is going to be glowing and wide and wonderful; it’s a ripe time to cultivate new kinds of strangeness, new kinds of powers. Spend your days walking around alone or talking to strangers in the park, in the coffee shop, in the mall. Spend your nights exploring the weirdest and brightest parts of your brain. Wear clothes that are loud or clothes that make you invisible or strong and strange perfume. Watch movies about witches; watch movies about monsters. Read The Cyborg Manifesto.
Sagittarius: This week, when you’re not even expecting it—when you’re distracted by the cloudy sky or the sounds of car alarms outside your window—you’re going to find a sudden sturdy feeling of clarity. Try not to look too hard for it or everything will start to seem like clutter, like noise, like nothing. Just keep living your life and while you’re on the bus home from work or while you’re cooking dinner or while you’re waking up in the morning, the world will come into focus. It’ll all be clear and airy and bright, and you’ll know what you have to do.
Capricorn: This week, the world you live in might look a little dim, a little drab, compared to how the future looks to you, compared to the colors that are waiting for you on some distant day, compared to the bright sunlight on the tops of the trees, compared to the cool quiet mornings. Try not to get so worked up over it, try to remember how good it is to feel this kind of hope, how good these dreamy days are. Spend your days in the library, spend your time looking at photographs of faces and maps of the moon.
Aquarius: This week is going to mark some kind of shift for you, some kind of brightening, a sweet and surprising change. Spend your days outside and feel the way the air touches your skin. Spend your days at the ocean and fall asleep at night feeling salty and clean. Spend your days driving to places you’ve never been before, cooking things you’ve never made before, dreaming weird and brilliant dreams you’ve never quite dared to have before. The world is going to be good to you, this week. Take advantage of it. Get joyful, get weird, get wild.
Pisces: This week you’re going to find yourself wanting to do nothing but talk and tell stories and share everything with everyone, every thought you’ve ever had, everything you’ve ever felt. This week, talking’s going to make you feel lighter, talking will make you feel free. It’s a good week to write weird emails to everyone you’ve ever loved, or to write strange small poems about joy and madness, or to stay up late out on the porch, talking to your friends or your dog or yourself. Sing in the shower. Sing in the car. Listen to Rihanna.

Have you been enjoying the haunting, lovely collages that have been appearing with Madame Clairevoyant’s horoscopes the past couple of months? They’re by the amazing Brooklyn-based artist Jen May. You should obviously follow her.

  • The Rumblr’s in-house astrologer, Madame Clairevoyant, presents her latest dispatch from the stars:
Aries: This may be a deeply annoying week, full of things that make you mad. Sometimes, though, anger is good, sometimes it can feed you and keep you alive. Just try to also go outside and say hello to your neighbors, try to remember to call your brother back, try not to get so mad at the people who love you but don’t understand you well enough. Anger is not a bad thing: It won’t devour you if you don’t let it, if you think about other people, if you take good care of your plants.
Taurus: This week the world is going to ask you to feel feelings that seem silly and trite and weird. You can fight this, if you want; you can lock your door, you can stick your fingers in your ears and not listen. It’d be better, though—this week and next week and next year—if you don’t try to outsmart your sappy feelings. Don’t try to be smarter and better than the cliches, for now, just feel what you feel. Listen to Johnny Cash, watch Moonstruck.
Gemini: Things will start to feel lighter this week, but only if you can let some of the heavy things go. New paths will open in front of you, but it means you’ll have to choose one, it means you’ll have to leave some things behind. This is the best kind of week and the worst kind of week, when you have to make real choices, when that choice means a kind of loss, saying goodbye to parts of you that are old, that you do not need, but that are so sweet, so dear too. Read books about teenagers. Watch Clueless. Listen to Aye Nako.
Cancer: This week you’ll come up against the stark outer limits of your energy, of your kindness, of the different ways you can move in this world. Your body has edges and your movements have boundaries, and it can be weird and scary to feel trapped inside of them. Try not to worry about it. It’s a good thing that your life is circumscribed, that you don’t have to hold every single thing inside it, that you don’t have to live in a space without parameters, without edges, with ends. Eat salt, eat sugar, listen to X-ray Spex.
Leo: This is a week for recognizing the ghosts that live inside of you and for looking at them, and the strangeness they bring, with clear eyes. It can drive you crazy, to feel like your own brain is haunted, to feel like your hair, your bones, carry traces of your past. Spend time with these thoughts, this week, until the air starts to shift and shimmer around you, until it gets to be too strong, too much. Then be gentle with yourself. Listen to Fiona Apple, then read Banana Yoshimoto.
Virgo: This week might feel strange and empty and flat at first; it might feel like the world’s not giving you anything to hold onto, anything to work with, anything real. These are the weeks that can save you, these are the weeks when you can do anything. This is a time to go to the movies alone or bleach your hair or leave town; a time where you’re free to do whatever you want; a time to be happy because the world is yours.
Libra: This week is a good week for sitting and watching the cycles and tides of your life roll and shift, a good week for letting yourself be pulled through landscapes, through seasons, through whole worlds. It’s a good week for mapping your future and it’s a good week for ignoring your own maps and plans, for following the pull of the tides, for following your own weird whims. Trust your instincts this week, trust your desires. Trust yourself to get it right, trust the world to help you out.
Scorpio: This week is a good week for feeling the size of the world, it’s a good week for remembering, in ways that are beautiful or startling, how much space there is outside of you, how much of the planet you’ve never seen. It’s a good week for going to new places and reading about new things, it’s a good week for listening to songs you don’t understand and for listening to the sounds the world makes at night. Look up into the sky or look into the ocean, even if it’s dirty, even if it makes you sad. Read Anne Carson. Read Rachel Carson.
Sagittarius: As much as you can, this week, slow your brain down. Stop thinking. (It’s hard, it’s pointless, it’s impossible, but still.) Stop thinking about gray futures, stop thinking about bright futures, stop thinking about the darkest parts of your self. Stop thinking about the endless little loops of longing and terror that keep you awake at night. Eat green things or drink a beer or take a bath. Call your mom and don’t worry, listen to what she says, laugh at the jokes she tells you. Be gentle with yourself, be gentle with your thoughts. Listen to songs without words and go on walks.
Capricorn: This week is a week for working very hard, for writing until you grind your pencil down to nothing, for walking until you’ve worn holes right through the soles of your shoes. It’s okay to work hard at your job, if you want, but better to work on the poems that you’re writing, the quilt that you’re sewing, the house that you’re building. The energy that’s going to flow through you this week is going to be very bright and very special. Don’t waste it on things that will not bring you happiness or peace, on things that will not help you build the world you want.
Aquarius: Leave your house as much as you can this week, move around the places you live, open your eyes and keep them open. Watch babies running in the park this week, watch the birds that nest in your garage, drive out to the lake and try to imagine how deep it is, try to imagine all the strange plants below the surface that will never even see the sun. It’s strange and beautiful and a little chilling, in a quiet, gentle way, when life shows itself to you as openly as it will this week.
Pisces: Get a new haircut this week, one that you think might look weird, one that you think might change your life. Move to a new apartment, move to a new city, move out from under all the varieties of ugliness that have been floating around you and over you, small and quiet and heavy. This week will be the beginning of bright new things, if you let it be; it’ll be like the rich black soil in your garden or like the frame of your house or like the beginning of a river up in the mountains, fresh and quiet and sweet.

This week will be the beginning of bright new things, if you let it be; it’ll be like the rich black soil in your garden or like the frame of your house or like the beginning of a river up in the mountains, fresh and quiet and sweet.

  • The Rumblr’s in-house astrologer, Madame Clairevoyant, presents her latest dispatch from the stars:
Aries: The world you live in might feel really gross this week, shabby and ratty and violent and weird. Sometimes the world is a gross place; sometimes it can be unkind. Sometimes you can’t even turn on the television, it’s so ugly. Sometimes you can’t even look at the peeling paint on your own house. Sometimes you have to go totally wild to even deal with it, and that is okay. Don’t be unkind, but don’t worry so much about being pleasant and easy. Listen to loud songs. Watch John Waters movies.
Taurus: This week is a really good week for treating yourself like the best, most beautiful thing in the whole entire world, especially if it’s cold, especially if it’s cloudy, especially if you start to feel sad. If you get frazzled this week, if you feel like a monster, then get your hair cut, get your nails done, wear clothes that make you feel like a peacock, like an alien, like a queen. Treat your whole life like it’s gold, like it’s a redwood tree, like it’s a soft tiny baby. Take a day off work. Buy yourself a book. Buy yourself a whole gallon of ice cream.
Gemini: This week is going to be smooth, its going to be simple, its going to seem like you’re watching it from high in the air. Weeks like this can get a little unnerving when you start to feel weightless, when you feel airy and far away. Try not to worry, just notice how green the whole landscape is, how gentle the slope of the hills, how close you are to the clouds. Remember that you still have a body, remember that you have a life on the ground, and enjoy this strange vacation from from the sharp sad details of your world.
Cancer: This week’s going to feel a little choppy, a little stormy—like it has the potential to ruin you, like it has the potential to bring down everything you’ve ever believed in, every defense you’ve built for yourself. This sounds dark and crazy, maybe, but it’s okay. It’s okay to let yourself grow big and angry; it’s okay to storm and rage through the skies; it’s okay to sit inside at the window and watch the clouds blow over. This week is not about power, it is not about destruction, it is about the way the air smells after a storm.
Leo: This is a week for building, it’s a week for slow, even growth. It’s hard to do this when you’ve got such shining and beautiful plans in your head, when you already know just what you want this world to look like. This is a week for showing up to work on time, for laying foundations, for slogging through the long hours in the middle of the day. This week there’ll be no reward except the work itself, except the sweetness of slow progress, except the good sleep that comes at the end of a long sweaty day. Read Mavis Gallant, read stories about love, read whatever you want.
Virgo: This week is a good week for clarity, a good week for reflection, a good week not to even move at all, to poke at your thoughts, to watch the way they move, the ways they loop and dive. Watch for the times they get shaky and scared. Just sit, as long as you can, with the things that make your thoughts turn scary and weird. Make plans to go visit your old friends, to make tacos, to tell jokes, then to get quiet and listen to Nick Drake out on the porch.
Libra: You’ll be followed by a weird melancholy, this week, a strange nostalgia for things you’re not even missing, an unplaced feeling of itchiness, the sensation that you’re in the wrong place, in the wrong time, like you’re being haunted by past and future versions of yourself. This kind of sadness can feel very beautiful, but it can also make you feel like you’re not even alive. Don’t forget that you’re a real, living person. Try to feel gravity holding onto you, try to feel the water and the bones in your body, try to feel the ways you’re held and anchored in your own world.
Scorpio: This week might feel slow, stale, like you’re stuck in a deep, ugly rut. Getting out of this place will change you: it will make you sharper and weirder and better, it will make you free. First, though, this week, right now, just sit with it. Let it hold you, let it shake you. Listen to the way the wind sounds from where you are. Listen to how birds sound so far above your head. Listen to trucks rumbling past you out on the highway. Listen to songs from old movies while you plan your escape.
Sagittarius: This is a week for unimaginable things; now is the time to change your life in small ways and big ways. It’s a week for learning what you actually wanted all along; it’s a week for learning how brave you are. Try to be brave. Try to own every one of your wild desires, even if you’re not ready to follow them, even if you’re not ready to look at them in broad daylight. Try to let them run through your body, try to let them guide your brain and your feet. Read poems by Joy Harjo. Read stories by the kids who live next door.
Capricorn: This week is going to be about joy and confidence and hope, about letting yourself be seduced, just a little, by the wildest parts of your dreams, by the wildest future lives you can think up. Try to feed these dreams—let them grow strong, let them grow bigger than feels safe, bigger than feels real. Try not to even feel weird about this crazy confidence. Listen to Marnie Stern, listen to Laura Mvula, listen to the people in your life who think that you’re good, who think you’re the best, who think that you’re infinite.
Aquarius: This is a week for you to get free from everything that’s been weighing you down, everything that’s been hiding in the ugly corners at the back of your brain. This week’s all about feeling right, feeling safe, getting what you need in order to run wild through the world. Work on learning how to fix your bike, how to fix your car, how to take care of yourself in the smallest, most concrete ways. Work on learning how to call your friends when you need them. Listen to The Breeders.
Pisces: This week is going to be about freedom, about a slow loosening of the boundaries and limits all around you. It’s a good week for going on walks, for noticing buildings and trees and colors that you never noticed before, for looking at this wide world that’s opened up all around you. This new freedom might feel empty, it might feel a little hollow, it might feel like it’s not enough to sustain you through the coming weeks. It will, you just need to adjust to this wide new landscape. Listen to The Beach Boys, listen to your own quietest thoughts.

  • The Rumblr’s in-house astrologer, Madame Clairevoyant, presents her latest dispatch from the stars:
Aries: This week’s going to feel a little hazy, a little grey, a little too heavy and still somehow a little too light, like it’s missing some small essential thing, a kind of force, a shade of gold or green. Sometimes this type of warm cloudy life is soothing—it can feel safer, better, than seeking brightness and power and joy—but this week the haziness might start to bear down too hard, might start to feel like it’s crushing you. When this happens, reading can help. Walking is better. Swimming is better still. Dreaming is best.
Taurus: This is a week for making yourself known, for making space for yourself, for telling your own truths, even if they’re strange or illegible, even if they’re impossible to say except in a whisper or a shrug or a lie. Make a dress for yourself, make your own strange and invisible paths through your city, build a place that you can live in and feel okay. This is a week for not taking anybody else’s advice, for getting a little wound up, for feeling a little ridiculous over how thoroughly and how deeply your own life belongs to you. Read Bhanu Kapil. Get a little weird.
Gemini: The way the ground feels under you, the way people look at you, this week, might make you feel like you aren’t a real, solid person. It might make you feel like a reflection, a ghost. This is not bad, it’s not even strange, to go a little wild to make sure that you’re still real. It’s good to shake up the air around you, to make vibrations of the air match the vibrations of your beating heart. This is a good week for changes, a good week for moving, a good week to shake things up. See what happens.
Cancer: This week might leave you feeling slow or empty or stuck. It might leave you waiting for a gust of wind to carry you away, a lightning bolt to come down from the sky—jagged and bright—and fill you with an electric power. This feeling of stasis may be harsh and heavy, even painfully real, but it’s easy to make things move again. Open your window and let some air in, open your door and walk outside. You’re always already carrying the energy of the whole world inside of you; this week’s just about fixing the circuits.
Leo: Strange battles are raging inside of you this week. There are moons and tides pulling at you all at once, all in different directions, all at different speeds. Having a heart is such a unfamiliar jumble of a thing; having a body is just as full, just as fraught. It will be a difficult week for decisions, a difficult week if you try to stand firm and tall. Think of all the water in your body, think of all the water in the air, think of yourself as a river, as an ocean, as a whole shifting aquatic world.
Virgo: This week will be full of luck, full of weird and funny surprises—like a snowstorm in October, like the first warm day of the year, like when a wrong turn takes you to your old house or a favorite street or the ocean. Trust your eyes this week, trust your guts, trust your feelings of loneliness and your capacity for joy. Trust that the compass you’ve built from your own crazy guts will carry you through all your days, through all your nights, through every place you could ever find.
Libra: Something in the world, in the air, is going to loosen this week. Your life will empty out a bit, your mind will go a little quiet. This will make space in your head for you to move, room you can fill with songs and echoes. It’s not going to be a lonely week, just one where spending time alone will be rich and fruitful and bright. Wake up early to sit alone in the kitchen. Stay out late to drive home at night on the dark bendy roads. Read books about the planets; read books about discovery.
Scorpio: Everything in your world will start growing around you—wild and fast and steady—this week until you’re left feeling smaller than ever before, more lost, still unsure of how to live in a space that only now is large enough to give you space to breath. This is a week for taking in this new air, for getting your bearings, for focusing, for feeling yourself get brighter. The whole world will respond to the glow your small, strange powers light it with. Practice being loud. Practice singing. Watch movies about deserts.
Sagittarius: If you feel like you are a little too eager this week, a little too messy—try to slow down. Calm your thoughts down enough that you can take a real look at them. Sit with your weird self, with the weird patterns of your brain, past the point where it gets uncomfortable, past the point where it gets boring. Try to be unafraid of the present, try to be unafraid of the future, try to trust both stillness and motion and the occasions in which you can’t tell the difference. Read stories about time travel.
Capricorn: This week you’re going to feel yourself moving in new directions that feel light and surprising, as weird and new as if you were burrowing underground or diving beneath the ocean or floating through the dark sky. It’s a week for drawing maps of your brain, maps of your world, that are odd to look at and hard to read—bright and shifting and expansive. Go swimming, go for a run, eat until you feel sick. Think about the ways your body can move so crazy, so lovely, so sure. Read about Mars.
Aquarius: This week you’re maybe going to feel a little fragile, a little tender, like you can’t stop taking things personally, like you can’t stop small ugly things from burying themselves deep in your floorboards, burrowing into your foundations. Sometimes bitterness feels good and nourishing and important, but sometimes it is better to let it just wash over you, to remember that you are small, that you are different, that you are wise. Look at your face in the mirror until you recall who you are. Take a walk, take a bath, take books with beautiful covers out of the library.
Pisces: This week every mark on the pavement, every cloud in the sky will have you looking for meaning, for clues, for code words and symbols and puzzle pieces that you can put together if you look at them long enough. This week’s will have you looking for answers that can fit within your hand or inside your pocket, dense and contained. All you’ll find, however, are these strange currents of feeling, uncertainties that are bright and dazzling, budding birch trees outside your window. This is how it should be; this is right and good.

  • The Rumblr’s in-house astrologer, Madame Clairevoyant, presents her latest dispatch from the stars:
Aries: This week you are going to feel powerful, you’ll feel quick and strong and right. This week is a great week for you to make things happen, for you to get what you want—a lucky time. It’s also a time when it’ll be easy for you to be selfish, for you to be distracted, for you to do small cruel things just because you aren’t paying attention. Move through the world with your windows open, feel the sun fall gentle on your face. Feel your power and let it light you up, but be careful with the ways you let it reflect all around you.

Taurus: It seems like a sappy thing to say—a little weird, a little trite—but this is a week for love above anything else, for letting sweet feelings germinate inside of you like tiny seeds, for feeling overpowering warmth and kindness toward the people in your life, toward the places that have fed and sustained you through this whole winter, through your whole life. It’s a good week for spending time around other people and letting this funny glow in you light up the whole room, light up the forest, light up the sky.

Gemini: This week you might feel small, you might feel invisible, you might feel lonely, you might feel weightless, you might feel free. Let this feeling of lightness carry you, let it take you to places where you can breathe easily, where nobody wants a thing from you. This sweet, lonely invisibility can’t sustain a person forever, though. Try to let this feeling run its course, then go swimming. Eat a pizza. Remember how good it is to be a solid person.

Cancer: This is a week for dreaming huge and wild dreams, for imagining a world where you don’t need to worry about yourself or your city or the oceans or people you love. Let your dreams grow large; let them get weird. You’ll have to work for the things you want but right now, this week, it’s better to dream about them, it’s better to imagine the shape of a different world, it’s better to read Bernadette Mayer on your lunch break, it’s better to tell your mom you love her.

Leo: This week is a week for getting clean, for getting new, for letting all your bad feelings leave your body through your pores and through your tears. It’s a week for getting rid, as much as you can, of all of the sadness and resentment you’ve carried in your body all winter, for getting rid of all the small hurts that make it hard for you to live. Try, this week, to go forward with nothing but your small self and your weird bravery and no anger but the anger that you need to get by.
Virgo: This week, the world’s going to feel very large to you. When you walk outside to rainy mornings and sunny afternoons and dense blue nights, when you’re inside your home, when you’re inside your head, it’s going to feel too big for safety, for love, for recognition. You can fight this feeling by working or by walking until you’re too tired to move or by staying home and eating something filling and warm for dinner or by listening to Karen Dalton until you fall asleep.

Libra: This week, the shape of the life you imagine for yourself is going to change—maybe slightly, maybe dramatically. Either way, it’ll have you rethinking things, looking at the world with new life, with new vision, with a sharp and uncanny sense of the sky moving over your head, of the earth shifting under your feet. This is a week when you’ll need sounds and stories more than you’ve ever needed them. You’ll need stories to make the future solid again, to make the world real. Read Octavia Butler.

Scorpio: You might doubt yourself this week, you may look with suspicion at the life all around you, at the streets you move through, at the smiles on your friends’ face. It’s confusing to rethink every choice you’ve ever made; it’s scary to rework and rebuild every structure, every map you’ve ever used to understand this world. Spend time inside this doubt, sit with it, let it blossom. Spend time with people you don’t understand. Hang out with dogs, hang out with babies. Let this weird state of flux open up your world.

Sagittarius: Whatever bad feelings you’ve been holding inside yourself, whatever small sadnesses, they’re all going to burst wide open this week. This tightly wound cord of unhappiness, of dissatisfaction, of boredom is going to snap this week with a force that will surprise you, with a sound like a guitar string, like a harp string, like a bell. This is a perfect week to make changes; it’s a week to leave behind the things you’ve been trying to talk yourself into loving. This is a week to start moving, a week not to be afraid. Listen to Swearin. Pretend to be braver than you are.

Capricorn: You might feel like you’re a little off, this week, like you’re moving one beat too soon, one step too late. Moving this way means you might not feel quite comfortable, quite safe, this week, but it also means that you have access to a different world. Right now you can see things that nobody else can. This is a good moment to spend time by yourself. It’s a good moment for wandering, at your own speed, for going where you want to go, for looking up at the sky, for seeing your own weird thoughts form in the clouds.

Aquarius: This week you’ll be surprised by knowledge that comes to you out of nowhere, out of thin air, sudden and strange. During the most boring moments of your week—when you’re stuck in traffic, in the middle of a long work day—if you let yourself get dreamy, let your mind wander, you’ll come across bright new understandings of the things in your world. This kind of clarity can sometimes be rough or messy or crooked, but it will be bright, it will be yours, it will change everything.

Pisces: As the days get longer, as the world gets larger and brighter, you might start to feel dissatisfied with how things are, you might feel small, stuck, limited. Buy a pair of running shoes or get your bike tuned up—this is a good week to be in motion. Now is a time to leave things behind you, now is a time to come home. This week the world is big enough for new pleasures, big enough for new fears, big enough for whole new ways of being. Go somewhere new, roll down the windows, turn up the radio as loud as you can.

The Rumblr’s in-house astrologer, Madame Clairevoyant, presents her latest dispatch from the stars:

  • The Rumblr’s in-house astrologer, Madame Clairevoyant, presents her latest dispatch from the stars:
Aries: This week’s going to be gentle, it’s going to be small and easy, a smooth small pebble, a barely opened window on a cool, dark night. This week is for trusting surfaces, trusting the things people tell you and faces they show you, for believing the things you can see. Even though you know that there are depths beyond your reach, things that are not apparent, masks that hide truths—work on honoring and living with simplicity. This week, go to bed early. Read Wisława Szymborska.
Taurus: Think about the spaces you take up in the world, notice the ways that your body acts on it, the ways it acts on your body. It can be intense, even heavy, to listen to the way your voice weaves through the hallways and staircases and alleys of your life, to hear to the way it echoes back to you from weird and faraway places you’ve never even been. You’re bigger and you’re stronger than you think, and this is a wonderful, scary thing. Read Anna Akhmatova. Listen to Erykah Badu.
Gemini: This week your heart’s going to feel so mushy, so tender—when it’s inconvenient, when you’re in meetings, when you’re in grey hallways or on bleak highways. You might feel caught up in thoughts of how fragile everything is. You won’t be able to stop thinking about sweet little babies, about your grandparents, about the trees and dirty rivers of where you live. This kind of love can wear a person out so be tender this week, be fierce and wild, be mixed up, be tired. Read Lynda Barry.
Cancer: Your life will surprise you, this week, when you stop for a second to look at how fully the world has grown up around you, how rich and strange the tiny ecosystems inside your brain and your body are. All the work you’ve been doing to build a life, to build a self that is strong and sturdy and real—suddenly it will burst wide open. This week, it’s going to bloom. Ride your bike for miles and miles. Swim in a lake. Buy a used set of speakers and listen to the songs that make you feel huge and alive.
Leo: Feel your heart get all warm and warped and misty, this week, when you think about ways the world might have been had things been different, if you’d made different or better choices, if the world had been bigger or kinder. Let this feeling live inside you but don’t feed it too much—don’t let it blossom into despair, don’t let it grow stronger than your arms. Read Sylvia Plath or listen to Aaliyah, but then go outside and eat sandwiches and ice cream with your friends. Remember you’re standing on solid ground.
Virgo: This week, measure the shapes and sizes of the feelings you carry inside you, of your dreams, of your bad thoughts. This week is for seeking out and recognizing those things you need to feel okay, to feel whole. It’s for creating spaces where those things can fit, spaces big enough for you to breathe. Sometimes the right thing to do is to shape your feelings, sand their edges down, make them manageable. Right now, it’s better to make the world give you the space you need. Read Derek Walcott and think about history, think about movement, think about storms.
Libra: This week you’ll find yourself looking to the future; you’ll find yourself sketching pictures in your head of a dizzy dreamy life. Let your imagination grow—let it climb mountains, let it blind you like sunlight glinting off the ocean. Let it get bigger than the whole world, big enough that it starts to make you feel afraid. Ride your bike, ride the train, watch the world around you move fast and blurry and bright. The warm days ahead are going to stretch out, so wild, so beautiful, full of a terrifying desire. Read about magic, about heroes, about weirdos.
Scorpio: This week will be exciting, like you’re living a story, a movie, a dream about flying. Let this fill you up—the joy, the excitement—but remember that you’re a person living a life. Remember that you are very special; also remember that you’re not more special than anyone else. Remember the small boredoms of the world. Remember that you have to buy toilet paper and take out the garbage. Remember every person who is special, who is real, who is waiting for you to be solid, to be tender, to be there.
Sagittarius: This is a week for going outside your house. It’s a week for forgetting the ugly thoughts that have been living inside you. Try to remember the truest parts of your self, try not to get so bothered. This week, build a house, or a room, or a small quiet space of your own out of sheer confidence, out of a strange audacity you never even knew you had. Do what you want to do; don’t be afraid. Drive out to the beach and listen to the cold water rushing toward you. Listen to hazy looping songs and think about witches.
Capricorn: This week is a time for dreaming, for planning, for moving, for shaking all the dust out of your head, out of your eyes. This week, travel through all the places you’ve lived in your life, or just look at pictures. Remember the way your old houses smelled in springtime. Feel anger or tenderness or regret or love. Then, go back home to the world you live in right now. Clean your stove, open your windows and air out the house, and get ready for good things to come to you.
Aquarius: This week is going to be wild and tangled, it will be glittering and rich. Your world is a little complicated right now—nothing’s going to be smooth, nothing easy. Your heroes might disappoint you, but the dark places might also surprise you with strange pockets of kindness, of gentleness, of understanding. This week is a good week to be calm, to walk through the spring days, to do what you need to do, to let the world spin whatever way it wants all around you. Read Alice Notley.
Pisces: Things are going to come back to you this week, things that you’ve forgotten, things you never paid any mind to—things now grown up, grown large, grown strong and bright and wild. These things will greet you on the street, they’ll whisper in your ear, they’ll remind you who you’ve been and who you are. Listen closely. Remember every good thing you’ve done; remember every time you’ve been unkind. Be calm this week and be a little quiet. Think of the ways you can move through the world like light, like air, like water.

  • The Rumblr’s in-house astrologer, Madame Clairevoyant, presents her latest dispatch from the stars:
Aries: This is a week for for sitting in bed, for sitting in the grass in the park, for sitting alone on the bus and watching the way the world moves around you. Think about the size of your life, the size of your heart, the size of the different types of happiness and loneliness that you carry inside your body. Think about how much you need to live in this world, think about everything inside you that’s small and green. Hold on to your feelings and weigh them against the sky, the ocean, the sun.
Taurus: Your vision is going to have so much clarity this week; the world will to be clearer to you, easier to decode. Listen to silences on the telephone, look at your friends’ faces when they’re not talking, notice the empty spaces between moments. It’s going to be stunning; it’s going to be a little scary.  It’s good to acknowledge the things you see in your room, out your window, in your dusty basement, in the dusty corners of your brain. It’s okay, too, to turn your head away.
Gemini: This week the world’s going to go a little wobbly around you, it’s going to get weird. The sun will get in your eyes and it’ll to be hard to tell what you’re really seeing. You’re going to have to trust yourself. This week you’ll to have to trust your wild brain more than your own eyes, you’ll to have to trust the thumps in your heart and the prickles on your skin the way you’d trust a best friend, a favorite book, a dream. Listen to Grass Widow.
Cancer: You’ll be filled with more energy than you know what to do with, this week, full up with more warm feelings than your body, your own heart can even absorb. It’s important that you notice people other than yourself, this week. Bring food to your friends, visit your grandparents, talk on the stoop all afternoon with your new neighbors. It’s a good week for walking your dog and weeding your garden. Read the books you loved when you were younger; read books about funny, gentle kinds of love.
Leo: This week’s going to be really lovely for you, it’ll be a week for feeling calm, for feeling okay, for not getting that mad when the bus is late. Some things will go wrong this week: someone will give you wrong directions or you’ll take a wrong turn or you’ll get a letter that was meant for someone else, and it won’t even be annoying, because these small strange things will be so funny, so surprising, they’ll also be a complete delight. These small strange things will change your life.
Virgo: This week you’re going to notice weird patterns and resonances everywhere in your life; you’ll see your whole life story written in the cracks in the sidewalk outside your house, your dreams carved in the bark of the trees all up and down your street. Everywhere you look this week is a map that can be read, a series of dots that you can connect if your eyes are open and if you’re looking. When it feels difficult, when it feels weird, go to the library. Read everything they have by Clarice Lispector.
Libra: Let yourself get really dreamy this week, let your mind wander all across town, through bookstores, through memories of swimming, memories of sleep. It’s going to be a really gentle week, a really kind week, a week for wandering in warm yellow evenings, a week for feeling great bursts of affection for every single inch of the place you live in, for every ounce of the sky, for every freckle on your friends’ sweet faces. Pay attention to these kind feelings this week—hold on to them. They will make you weirder. They’ll make you stronger.
Scorpio: This week is going to be full of long days and sunlight and smiles from people you don’t even know. This week you’ll feel strong; you’ll feel like nothing could ever stop you from running your whole life just the way you want. The world’s going to be gentle with you this week, so it’s a good time for trying new things. Care too much. Bake complicated desserts. Let your feelings embarrass you a little. Work toward your grandest, silliest dreams.
Sagittarius: Listen to your body, this week, even when you’re deep inside your head, all absorbed in moody songs and messy thoughts. You’ll to feel hollow and cold and stale if you don’t remember that you have a body that lives in the world, that needs to see the sun, that needs to move around in the sweet April air, that needs to be touched. Get up, sit down, take a shower, eat something. Eat ice cream and watch tv shows about animals, about plants, about rain.
Capricorn: This is a good week for making choices and making changes, for setting off in strange directions. It’s a good week for looking all around you and dreaming about all the things you could do. It’s a good week for fixing your vision on a point very far off in the distance and starting to walk, through forests, through deserts, through steely grey streets. This week the sun’s going to feel so warm and encouraging on your skin, through your windows. Any choice you make this week will be a good one, as long as you move.
Aquarius: This week might be full of confrontations, over small things and big things and everything, with strangers on the street, with the people at work, with your sisters, with your mom. When you stand up for yourself, when you stand very firm on the ground that you live on, it’s going to shock even you, how much it clears the air, how much it shakes all the dust out of your head, how much it drives every cloud out of your sky. These clashes will leave everything inside of you shining and warm, light and new.
Pisces: This week the spaces you move through will seem so gorgeous and gleaming and bright. This week the whole world’s going to feel new for you; this week, doors will open up for you. You may feel dizzy with all the possibilities, like you’re standing on a ladder, on a rooftop, on the moon. This is a good week to take weird leaps, to do the things that other people tell you are bad ideas but still beckon, warm and bright as day, asking for your trust, daring you to live wild and light.
